60ies style house in Forest Hill

This project is for a young professional, very busy with his work who needed some advice to chose colours and equipment.

For the living area, the brief was a modern comfortable place in a black and white scheme, with a black leather sofa.

I designed the rug to finish the scheme. The rug is made bespoke by Misha-rug company.

On the other side of the room is a big built-in cupboard, to hide the television and other equipment. The client showed me what sort of wall unit he wanted and I designed this one, that is made by a carpenter.

A bright red chair prevents the black and white scheme to be boring and cold.

Here is the dining area. A cupboard is built above the radiator, and transform it as a real feature with a nice shelving space.

Very often staircase are a place where to pass as quickly as possible simply because it is boring. Staircases are also very often dark and narrow, un-interesting. I decided for this project to use a beautiful dark wall paper (cut out lace from Vivienne Westwood) on one wall. This wall is lit by beautifull glass Art Deco wall sconce, and every other stair is lit by a stair wall light.

Arrived on the first floor, you enter the master bedroom, which is a sophisticated retreat all in shiny silver and beautiful dark purple.

The brief was a comfortable and modern retreat, empty of un-necessary furniture. Here is the sample board:

The second room on the first floor is the guest bedroom/office. Here the Brief was a multifunctional room to be used as an office and as a guest bedroom. The sofa is a sofabed and there is plenty of storage.

The top floor bedroom is another multifunctional room. It is the "boys' playroom", where you can listen to the music, have a drink... and it is also to be used as an occasional guest bedroom.

The colours are bright and exciting.

Advise only living room in Hounslow

This is the furniture layout made for a living room, with the adjacent dining area located in a lean to conservatory. When I first visited the place, the dining area wasn't a nice place to stay and the living area was a closed space. As my client wanted her family to spend more time in the dining area and have a comfortable and modern living room, I decided to open the living room onto the dining area, and use upholstery to link the two spaces.

My client wanted pattern and violet colours and keep the space spacious.

Living room for a flat in Greenwhich

This is an "advice only" project for the living room of a flat in Greenwhich.
For This project, I have created a scheme for a relaxing yet stylish room. All the materials were sourced, including wall and floor covering, upholstery, furniture... and a window treatment completed the scheme.

To make sure the scheme is as green as possible, eco paints are used (no VOCs off gased, and the paint is not a petroleum based product but is made with natural ingredients)
Bamboo fabric is included in the scheme.

Bedrooms

This is a board I prepared to show the design created for three bedrooms in the same house. One bedroom is for a little girl the second one for her brother and the third one is the master bedroom.

This is an axonometric drawing of a bathroom.
The brief specified the use of glass, a large bath and large shower, bidet and W.C., double basins and enough storage.
I have chosen to add floor LED lights as an atmosperical lighting and for safety reason.
The scheme is blue-green, reminded water and enlighten by yellow (the sun).

Sitting room 3

The brief was to create a modern sitting room, comfortable and full of emptiness.

I chose a white background with white walls and furniture. The chimney breast is the focal point with a fancy and bright wall paper in off white tones. A big mirrors surrounded by LED lights is the focus.
To enlive the scheme, I chose a colourful beautiful fabric with butterflies for the blinds and cushions.
The flooring is a nice woolen carpet in off white colour.

Budget children's room

The brief was to create a children's room on budget.
The client wanted a feeling of space, simplicity and enjoyable by children.
I proposed a light green scheme, which create a calm atmosphere. Colours are light in order to have a feeling of space. The chimney breast is painted in a slightly darker colour to participate in building a focal point. The fire place is not located in the middle of the chimney breast, the right side being larger. I decided to introduce the shade of a tree and birds on this larger side to balance the chimney breast and create a focal point in the room.

Kitchen

The kitchen needed to be completely replaced, the flooring made even, the walls replastered and the whole house had to be rewired.

The kitchen/dining is an open plan room, and the client wanted to keep a clear separation between the kitchen and the sitting/dining area, so I have included a in-built table with two fancy light hanging over it to make the separation.
The scheme is light, with off-white cupboards and yellow walls. Under cupboard lighting are a good source of light for task lighting.
The cupboards were mounted to suit the client's height.

Dining/Sitting room area

We have inserted two in-built cupboards in the chimeny recess. The shelvings are lit with LED lights. The cold white of the LED lamps are perfect with the warm off white used in the scheme.
In the cupboard are hidden electrical plugs, so that it is possible to hide and plug electrical equipment including Hifi...
The scheme is light and sophisticated, using light natural colours.
A gas stove was inserted in the fire place, creating a focal point and a clean extra heating for the room. The mantel piece and the cupboard share the same details and colours.
